As part of its corporate social responsibilities, Toyota Ghana
Company Ltd. has donated one of the New Generation Toyota Corollas
which was recently launched to the Ministry of Education, Science
and Sports in support of GHANA CAN 2008.
In
a short but impressive handing over ceremony at the Ministry
of Education, Science and Sports on Monday, 21st January, 2008,
the Managing Director of Toyota Ghana, Mr. Masato Kimata, said
as a socially responsible corporate citizen, Toyota Ghana is
making this gesture as one of the numerous activities lined
up to commemorate the Company’s 10th anniversary which
falls this year. He said he is particularly happy about this
donation considering the trail blazing performance of the Senior
National Team, the Black Stars in the opening march. He said
Toyota Ghana has decided as its social responsibility to support
Education, Health, Sports and Safe Driving.
Receiving the keys to the 1.6Litre New Generation Toyota Corolla
valued at $23,000, the Minister of Education, Science and Sports,
Prof. Dominic Fobih, thanked Toyota Ghana for this thoughtful
gesture. He said the Ministry is privileged to be the first
corporate body to take delivery of the NG Toyota Corolla which
has just been launched. He promised to ensure that the vehicle
will be put to the purpose for which it was donated. In fact,
he was very happy that the vehicle has come at a very opportune
time as it will convey some officials of the Ministry, including
the Minister of State for Education, Ms. Elizabeth Ohene to
Sekondi to witness the scheduled match between the Super Eagles
of Nigeria and the Elephants of La Cote d’Ivoire.
