The General Manager of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Japan,
Africa Division, Mr. Toshiyasu Takahashi, has paid a day’s
courtesy call on Toyota Ghana Company Ltd. His visit is in line
with the Toyota principle of “Genchi Genbustu” –
Going to the source. His visit is also to enable him share his
rich experience with us on the most suitable vehicle line-up
for the Ghanaian terrain and also offer further support to us
in terms of logistics, training as well as vehicle supply.
As the General Manager, Toyota Africa Division, he has been
relating to Toyota Ghana and communicating with them mainly
through mails and calls. However, overtime, as Ghana developed,
the business of Toyota Ghana also increased. The need, according
to Mr. Takahashi, has therefore arisen to come down here (to
the source) to see things for himself.
For Toyota Ghana, this is memorable because even though they
get many visitors from TMC, this is the first time the General
Manager for Africa has visited them.
After familiarizing himself with the operations of Toyota Ghana,
he took the opportunity to visit the facilities of other auto
companies to help him gain understanding of the auto industry
in Ghana.
