Toyota AVENSIS was in 1997, and in 2003, the first generation
was replaced. In that same year, the second generation AVENSIS
(which had just a face lift) was lunched. It was then being
sold on different market in different names. In Ghana it was
then called ‘Corona’. It was later (2002) that Toyota
decided to give it a universal name globally-AVENSIS.
The name AVENSIS comes from the French world “Advancer”-meaning
Advance.
Indeed, the Toyota AVENSIS has advanced in every aspect design,
performance, cost of maintenance and its entire profile. Toyota’s
touched-up AVENSIS now has turn signals in the side mirrors,
new front bumper and grille, improved interior (especially the
seat materials), modified automatic headlight, dual automatic
air-conditioner and an option of wireless lock keyless entry.
The interior, which was re-design with the aim of creating a
chic elegant and prestigious atmosphere, comes with changes
offering a modified wood grain paneling. The steering wheel
is now a four-spoke wheel affair. The aim is to achieve superior
quality.
AVENSIS’ prestigious exterior has the appearance of a
robust, dynamic shape that gives it a commanding presence and
distinguishes it from its competitor. This exterior form was
also created with its aerodynamic performance in view. The result
is that the car achieves greater less-wind resistance, cutting
through the wind at high speed without fuss. And its characteristic
stability has been further enhanced from optimized suspension.
The AVENSIS features a new 1AZ-FE engine that emphasizes power
and torque. Alight engine, high rigidity crankcase that reduce
vibration, resulting in high output and superior fuel efficiency.
The good news crowning this wonderful new face-lift effort
is that AVENSIS has been ranked as one of the safest car in
the world. According to the European New Car Assessment Program
(Euro NCAP) assessment testing report, the AVENSIS was the first
car to achieve a five (5) star rating under the new, more religious
testing regime, scoring 34 out of 36 points! Once more, this
goes to underscore Toyota’s design principle aimed at
preventing accidents from according, and the case of AVENSIS
has taken the issue of safety to an entirely new level.
