Toyota Ghana Company Ltd. has opened a new branch in Tarkwa.
This is their third branch in Ghana (after Accra & Kumasi)
and the first since the inception of Toyota Ghana in 1998.
At a short but colourful and impressive ceremony to officially
commission the branch in Tarkwa, at which the new Land Criuser
70 was also launched, the new Managing Director of Toyota Ghana,
Mr. Masato Kimata said the establishment of the branch in Tarkwa
is especially crucial because it is meant to serve the mining
community, and miners have long been Toyota’s top customers
in Ghana.
He
intimated that it has always been part of Toyota Ghana’s
customer satisfaction programmes to bring their services closer
to the doorstep of their customers, and the new Tarkwa branch
is a major step in the fulfillment of this goal.
Furthermore, he acknowledged that the mining terrain is harsh
and requires very tough vehicles to meet their demands. This,
he said, is where the mines depend on the Toyotas due to their
strength. Toyota vehicles, according to him, are built for the
most demanding master. They come with rough road package, reinforced
suspensions and bushings, heavy duty shock absorbers, suitable
ground clearance and engine under-cover plate. These make Toyota
vehicles robust, reliable and highly dependable in navigating
the harsh terrain in the mining area. In recognition of all
these, Mr. Kimata said Toyota Ghana considers it a responsibility
to go, stay there with them and provide the much needed dependable
support. He also acknowledged Total Petroleum Ghana for the
great support provided to Toyota Ghana, especially in the provision
of workshop equipment as well as lubrication system for this
new branch.
The President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Mr. Jurgen Eijgendaal,
whose speech was read on his behalf by his representative, Mr.
Rexford Agyeman, to formally commission the new branch lauded
Toyota Ghana for the decision to set up in the mining hub of
Tarkwa. He noted that by this act, Toyota Ghana is making itself
more market oriented by identifying the needs of their customers
and satisfying those needs.
According
to Mr. Agyeman, Toyota is very well known in the mining industry
for its quality control, pre-sales, sales and after-sales service.
He wished Toyota Ghana well and unveiled the plaque to commission
the branch.
The General Manager of Goldfields Ghana, Mr. Johan Botha, who
launched the new Land Cruiser 70, observed that the vehicle
he was launching has earned the title, “King of 4 wheel
drives” in every corner of the globe, because its performance
and reliability have become the stuff of legend.
He stated that this number one vehicle in utility, did not
earn its reputation only from its rugged toughness but also
because of its legendary safety features to protect passengers
in the cabin in case of accidents. This newly designed vehicle,
he again noted, adds a feeling of breath, spaciousness and exciting
beauty which combines with a strong new presence to give any
owner the joy of vehicle ownership.
