Toyota Ghana has organised a very colourful and impressive
ceremony to launch and out-door the New Generation Corolla and
the New Land Cruiser at the plush La-Palm Beach Hotel.
Launching the New Generation Corolla, the President of the
Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Dr. Alex Nii Otoo Dodoo, said
the New Generation Corolla offers an all-new body with a lean,
stylish shape, and delivers increased interior and luggage room,
more power, more economical engines, an all new chassis and
suspension. The New Corolla also comes in two grades –
an all new 1.6 and 1.8 Litre Petrol Engine equipped with a 16
valve, four-cylinder manual and automatic transmissions. It
has in addition an impressive list of comfort and utility feature
that further enhances the “Corolla Driving Experience”
such as an AM/FM CD player with MP3 playback capability.
The President of Association of Ghana Industries, Mr. Tony
Oteng Gyasi, who launched the New Land Cruiser, described it
as the vehicle that epitomizes Toyota’s long-held reputation
for reliability and durability and without question the benchmark
for all Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and four-wheel drives
(4WDs). He observed that the New Land Cruiser is revamped as
a slightly larger model, comes with a new suspension for a more
refined ride, has a more powerful V8 engine and new electronic
aides for off-road driving. It is also well endowed with equipment
that makes driving more comfortable, and generally more luxurious
and capable than its predecessor.
The Managing Director of Toyota Ghana, Mr. Masato Kimata, in
his welcome address intimated that the ceremony was the kick
off event of Toyota Ghana’s 10th anniversary.
He described the Corolla as the best selling saloon car the
world over, having earned a reputation for quality, style and
value, and said “the New Generation Corolla would exceed
these high standards”. The Land Cruiser, according to
him, has earned the title “King of Four Wheel Drives”
and comes with an unmatched world-beating, off-road capability,
more refinement, comfort, and superior driving quality. He added
that both vehicles come equipped with new engines, and improved
fuel efficiency to ensure more efficient running costs and also
to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
He also remarked that as the Company celebrates ten years,
it is committed to three key areas – quality improvement,
service network expansion and corporate social responsibilities.
By implementing these, it is the objective of the company to
become the most admired Auto Company in Ghana.
