MR. RICHARD KWAME KWAE graduated from the Business
School of the University of Ghana in June 1999 with a BSc Administration
(Accounting Option - first class honours). He passed the final
certificate exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
Ghana (ICA Gh) in November 1999. In April 2001, he was admitted
as a certified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
Ghana.
In October 1999, Richard joined the merged firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers
Ghana office as an accountant trainee. In PricewaterhouseCoopers,
he served clients in financial services, mining and energy consumer
and industrial products, governmental ministries, non-governmental
organizations, and donor aid agencies. In serving these clients,
Richard was involved in financial audits, financial management
and due diligence reviews, information system reviews and pre-disbursement
surveys of a portfolio of public and private companies and non-governmental
organizations.
In March 2003, he resigned from PricewaterhouseCoopers as Senior
Associate 1 and joined Tractor and Equipment Ghana Limited (authorised
CATERPILAR dealer in Ghana) as the Senior Accountant and was
responsible for developing and implementing financial and related
information systems, assisting management to set strategy and
objectives by providing financial expertise and review of business
performance, recruitment, selection and development of personnel
within the finance department, establishing and maintaining
professional relationships with colleagues, clients and others,
treasury management and budget preparation.
In July 2005, he was given additional responsibilities to oversee
the finance function in Tractor and Equipment Sierra Leone and
was equally tasked to ensure a successful introduction and implementation
of the group’s accounting software (IAS CODA) in that
territory. Sierra Leone IAS CODA implementation after signed
off was deemed one of the most successful within the group.
After four years of successful career with Tractor and Equipment
Ghana Limited, he resigned in May 2007 and joined Toyota Ghana
Company Limited as the Financial Controller.
Richard is married and has a son.
He is a devoted Christian who enjoys reading professional journals,
watching football and teaching.
