Ghana Company Limited has a new Managing Director.
He is Mr, Masato Kimata. His appointment took effect from April
1st, 2007.
Mr. Kimata, a product of Keio University in Japan, is a veteran
in the Automotive business. He comes to Toyota Ghana with over
twenty years of working experience with Marubeni Corporation,
shareholders of Toyota Ghana. He joined Marubeni in April 1986
as astaff of Co-ordination Section, Administration Department,
Head office in Tokyo. Later, he was transferred to the vehicles
department where he rose through the ranks until 1989, when
he took an overseas assignment in Belgium and then in the former
Yugoslavia (Serbia Montenegro).
In 1996, Mr Kimata returned to Japan. He was promoted to Manager,
Business Planning Section, Automotive and Construction Machinery
Department in 2001. Two years later (2003), he had another promotion.
This time, to the position of general manager, Wholesale Business
Planning Team, Auto Construction and Machinery. He was transferred
to the business Planning Team, Auto Department in 2005.
In 2006, he was re-assigned to handle Asia and Oceania Team
Auto Department. This position he held until his appointment
in Ghana as the Managing Director of Toyota Ghana Company Limited.
Mr. Kimata is married with two handsome boys
