Donation of a cash cheque
and a Toyota Hiace Bus |
In carrying out its corporate social responsibilities, Toyota
Ghana Company Limited has donated a Hiace Bus valued at $31,300
to the Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction Center of the Korle
Bu Teaching Hospital. The Company also made a cheque donation
of GH¢2,000 to the Ghana Heart Foundation.
Making the donation, the Managing Director of Toyota Ghana,
Mr. Masato Kimata said in addition to meeting the motoring needs
of Ghanaians, Toyota Ghana also contributes socially to sectors
such as Education, Sports and Health. He further stated that
as the premiere Hospital in the country, the largest in West
Africa, with a heavy stress on it logistically, Korle-Bu Teaching
Hospital needs all the support it can get to enable it meet
the health demands of both Ghanaians and foreigners who travel
long distances to access their services.
On behalf of the Korle-Bu Hospital, the director of Administration,
Mr. Christopher Nartey received the Bus and thanked Toyota Ghana.
He promised to ensure that the vehicle will be put to its intended
use. The Director of the Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction
Center, Dr. Alblbert Paintsil lauded the gesture by Toyota Ghana,
stressing that the Hospital can do with assistance from all
well meaning corporate bodies and individuals.
Receiving the GH¢2,000 cheque for the Ghana Heart Foundation,
the Deputy Director of the Cardiothoracic Center, Dr. Lawrence
Sereboe said the Ghana Heart Foundation subsidizes heart surgeries
every year. He urged other institutions to emulate the example
of Toyota Ghana to enable make their services easily accessible
to all.
