As part of our corporate social responsibility, Toyota Ghana
Company Ltd in collaboration with Graphic Communications Group
Ltd has organized a free medical screening for the residents of
Adabraka (our closest neighbours) and its surrounding environs.
The event took place on the 15th of November, 2008 at the All
Saints Anglican Church in Adabraka.
At the ceremony, the CEO of Toyota Ghana, Mr. Masato Kimata expressed
the importance of corporate social responsibility to Toyota Ghana.
He said the Health Screening exercise was one of the ways in which
the company is working to enhance the quality of life of the people
in the area within which Toyota Ghana operates. He mentioned other
initiatives embarked on by the Company as part of its corporate
social responsibility in the area of sports, education and road
safety. The Managing Director of Graphic Communications Groups,
Mr. Ibrahim Awal, also expressed similar concern explaining that,
the initiative was part of the Company’s commitment to ensuring
the welfare of the people in its local community.
Present at the ceremony was the Queen of Adabraka, Naa Kork or
Aadzieoyi I and other elders of the Atukpai Royal Family.
The medical team for the programme comprised of staff members
of the Graphic Communication Clinic, Volunteer Doctors and Nurses
from the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and qualified counselors from
the Ghana Business Coalition. The residents of Adabraka who patronized
the Health Screening were offered free anti-malaria drugs, antibiotics,
painkillers, vitamin supplements, voluntary HIV/AIDS testing and
dental services.
