TOYOTA GHANA LAUNCHES THE ALL NEW LAND CRUISER PRADO

To ensure the safety and comfort of our customers, Toyota Ghana has launched the all new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The new Prado which has undergone a complete model change comes with outstanding features such as Bluetooth compatibility, USB /i-pod connection, steering wheel control mounted switches, etc. It was launched in front of the Banquet Hall, State House Accra at the end of February, 2010.

Welcoming the guests to the launch, the MD, Mr. Masato Kimata, explained that with the new Prado, both off-road and on-road performance has been greatly improved. The development concept of “Off-road” and “Everyday Comfort” have been combined into one package. The design and style are thus suited to both the city as well as hard terrain usage. He assured customers of their drive comfort and safety. He also commented on the recent recall issue conducted by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). He assured customers that based on Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) received from TMC relating to the accelerator pedal issue, Toyota Ghana will quickly invite its valued customers to come for inspection and where necessary, apply the field fix. He added that “our customers’ safety and security are very important so we will put our utmost effort into addressing this situation”.

Launching the vehicle, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Madam Hannah Tetteh, recommended the New Prado as a safe and reliable vehicle loaded with all the comfort and state-of-the-art features for both town and country ride. She also commended Toyota Ghana for its tremendous contribution to the nation’s growth especially for sponsoring road safety campaigns to help curb reckless driving and over-speeding. She said the most remarkable of such campaigns is the mounting of road safety memorials on the Kasoa – Winneba – Apam stretch and the Takoradi – Tarkwa road.
