To make its services easily accessible to its customers nationwide, Toyota Ghana has certified its 4th Service Shop, the Cape Coast Technical Institute (CCTI), to handle the servicing of Toyota vehicles in the Central Region and surrounding areas. The first such shop authorized in the Toyota Ghana network expansion programme dubbed “Toyota Ghana Authorised Service Shop” (TGASS), was Kwansa Auto Ltd. in Takoradi, the second, Ansuare Co. Ltd in Tamale and the third, Gerco Auto Ventures in Ho.
CCTI has been a candidate Service Dealer of Toyota Ghana since 2009, undergoing both facility and technical skills upgrade to handle Toyota vehicles professionally in accordance with the Toyota standards. The institution was assisted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the installation of modernized diagnostic automotive equipment.
In his welcome address, the principal of CCTI, Mr. Henry Lyall, expressed his appreciation to Toyota Ghana for identifying their potential even years earlier and the commitment to expose the institute to the Toyota way of handling vehicles and customers. He also thanked JICA for assigning Mr. Inoue, a Japanese volunteer and an experienced automotive expert, to CCTI and also for assisting them in renovating and transforming their sub-standard workshop into a modern service shop.
Commissioning the Service Shop, Mr. Takahiko Takabayashi, MD/CEO of Toyota Ghana intimated that the company is aware of its growing customer base across the country, noting that Cape Coast is one of the major areas with a high volume of Toyota vehicles. In order to maintain the car in good condition, it is important to access the proper service and use genuine spare parts. “However, until the certification of CCTI, users here had to travel long distances to access our professional service. The situation has fortunately changed now. Toyota users in this region can enjoy easy access to this TGASS, where our quality service and genuine spare parts are available. We have brought our services to your doorstep” He congratulated CCTI for being the first technical institute to be certified as a TGASS.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Jiro Inamura, the resident representative of JICA Ghana office, congratulated CCTI for becoming a TGASS. He said “the certification of CCTI will not only benefit Toyota vehicle customers, but also the students of CCTI by being exposed to world class techniques”.
Toyota Ghana also donated a prototype Toyota Corolla to the institute to facilitate its training activities in churning out graduates who are well-versed in the technology to handle modern day vehicles equipped with sophisticated features. The presentation was made by Mr. Tadashi Anazawa, Field Operations Manager in Toyota Motor Corporation, Bahrain Representative office.
